Strategic planning is a vital process for any organisation striving to create meaningful impact and sustained growth. It provides a clear roadmap, aligning the organisation’s goals with its values, capabilities, and the needs of its community. For PALS, this journey took a significant step forward this year.
On 28 February, the Board held Part 2 of the PALS Strategic Planning workshop in Yarrawonga. Prior to this, Board members and the Executive team (pictured) visited each location where they were warmly welcomed by staff and clients, gaining valuable insight into the supports and activities delivered across the organisation.
These visits helped ground the planning process in real experiences and highlighted the unique contributions of each hub.
The second workshop, facilitated by the team from Saint George Consulting, offered an open and collaborative space to reflect on PALS’s future direction. Building on the first session held in late 2024, this workshop incorporated feedback from key stakeholders to shape the next phase of strategic development.
A key focus was on PALS’ values, which must reflect the organisation’s true intentions. During the discussions, several new values were identified—these will soon be shared with all staff and stakeholders through a Culture Survey, so be sure to have your say.
Next steps
Strategic planning is not just about setting goals—it’s about creating alignment, fostering shared purpose, and ensuring the voices of staff, clients, and partners are heard and valued. Through this process, PALS continues to build a stronger, more connected future.
Looking ahead, the Board and Executive are finalising the 2025–2027 Strategic Plan and the 2025–26 Operations Plan. These documents will guide PALS in achieving its mission and will be ready for sharing and implementation in the second half of this year.
